You deserve someone who will meet you where you are at in your journey.

Meet Laura Shaffer, neurodivergent affirming clinical intern, in Camp Hill, PA

At times we all struggle to make sense of our lives. You may find yourself asking questions like:

  • Why do I feel this way (is it normal)?

  • Is this really how I want to spend my life?

  • Where is this relationship going?

  • Where do I fit in?

  • What does any of this mean, anyway?

I love a good question, but I also love to help clients who get stuck in their heads start to find a way to move forward. As a neurodivergent graduate student in mental health counseling and gestalt therapist in training, I get it! My goal is to help you start where you are to get in touch with the wisdom of your body, your creative intuition, and most importantly your direct experience at this moment.

I believe the answers that are right for you, have to come from you – but you shouldn’t have to look for them alone.

Hi, I’m Laura, and I’m excited to be a part of the Bee-You Counseling team!

I’m an MA student at Adams State University and am also enrolled in a two-year Gestalt therapy training program through the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh. Before starting this training, I worked in K-12 education, tech, and the arts.

I live in Pittsburgh with my family, and outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, outdoor adventures, and experimenting with new hobbies (currently: pottery and qigong).

I look forward to learning more about your interests and goals, and working together to create a plan to help you move toward them!

Our approach to therapy is Person-Centered & Affirming.

That means we let your needs guide our work together, pulling from different modalities to fit your goals and needs.
